The Dutchmen broke his collarbone during a crash in the second free practice session of the World Supersport at the Moscow Raceway in Russia one week ago.</span></p>

<p><br /><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Despite the injury Van der Mark is fully confident for this week's European Superstock 600 Championship race at the Nürburgring in Germany, almost his second home race of the year after the Dutch round at TT Circuit Assen. The EAB Ten Kate Junior Team rider is currently second in the championship table, only three points behind leader Riccardo Russo (Yamaha) from Italy.</span></p>

<p><br /><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Michael van der Mark: "It's better every day. I don't have much pain at this time and the recovery is on schedule so that makes me very happy. I'm definitely racing next weekend in the European Superstock 600 Championship race at the Nürburgring as I want to be back on my Honda CBR600RR after the unlucky weekend in Russia. Many thanks to the medical staff of the Moscow Raceway and the Amphia hospital in Breda, the Netherlands. They did a great job!"</span></p>

In near perfect riding conditions Max Biaggi (Aprilia Racing Team) set a new track best of 1 minute 53.855 seconds at the Nürburgring to secure his first Tissot-Superpole win of the year and only the fifth of his career. The 2010 World Champion was in superb form and set a lap time that even the 2012 king of Tissot-Superpole, Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team), could not beat, even after a few attempts.

Marco Melandri (BMW Motorrad Motorsport) rode confidently to third place on the grid for Sunday's eni FIM Superbike World Championship races. Eugene Laverty (Aprilia Racing Team) joins the front row party in fourth, with Jonathan Rea (Honda World Superbike Team) putting himself fifth.

Reigning champion Carlos Checa (Althea Racing Ducati) secured sixth place while a spirited series of laps throughout Superpole from Leon Camier (FIXI Crescent Suzuki) puts him seventh. The last front row spot will go to Loris Baz (Kawasaki Racing Team).

Broc Parkes (Ten Kate Racing Products Honda) almost took second but lost his advantage in the final split, while championship leader Kenan Sofuoglu (Kawasaki Lorenzini) made it onto the front row for Sunday's 19-lap race.

Fabien Foret (Kawasaki Intermoto Step) relied on his Friday time for fifth, with Russian podium hero Vladimir Leonov (Yakhnich Motorsport Yamaha) again strong in sixth place. Gabor Talmacsi (PRORACE Honda) was seventh.

Just under three tenths behind him Eddi La Marra (Barni Racing Team Italia Ducati) was second fastest and to keep the close competition in the series at a high level, Sylvain Barrier (BMW Motorrad Italia GoldBet STK Team) was third. Day one fastest man Jeremy Guarnoni (MRS Kawasaki) was fourth overall, with British rider Kevin Coghlan (DMC Racing Ducati) improving his placing on the grid to fifth, with a lap time just over one second behind Staring's.

In the eni FIM Superbike World Championship round at the Nürburgring in Germany Max Biaggi (Aprilia Racing Team) pulled off one of his coolest and most assured wins to re-take the lead in the championship fight.

His 21st career victory, and his fifth of the 2012 season, came after he took the lead from a slowing Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team), and before the end of the 20 laps both Eugene Laverty (Aprilia Racing Team) and Chaz Davies (ParkinGO MTC Racing Aprilia) had passed also Sykes, making it a 1-2-3 for riders on Aprilia machinery.

Leon Camier (FIXI Crescent Suzuki) was a brilliant fifth after a last minute glitch on the starting grid. Championship contender Marco Melandri (BMW Motorrad Motorsport) crashed out of race one.

Third in the race was Fabien Foret (Kawasaki Intermoto Step Racing) who moved to third in the championship after podium challenger Sam Lowes (Bogdanka PTR Honda) fell. Chaz Davies (ParkinGO MTC Racing Aprilia) claimed his and his team's first ever SBK race victory with an impressive display over 20-laps, winning by over three seconds easing up, after top contenders Marco Melandri (BMW Motorrad Motorsport) and Max Biaggi (Aprilia Racing Team) had crashed out of podium positions.

In a festival of points for British and Irish riders, Eugene Laverty (Aprilia Racing Team) was second, and a great ride from Leon Camier saw him recover from a less than perfect start to go third and take a first podium for the FIXI Crescent Suzuki team.

Jonathan Rea (Honda World Superbike Team) was fourth, and one-time race leader Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) fifth. Biaggi recovered to finish the race 13th, half a minute down on the winner.

In the championship Biaggi has 318 points, Melandri 308.5 and Sykes 291.5, making the fight for the overall title win closer between the top three yet again.
